John Gage Breakfield serves as Hall County State Court Judge, where he has presided over thousands of cases. Judge Breakfield serves on the Executive Committee of the Council of State Court Judges, Legislative Issues Committee, and is District Chairman. Breakfield earned his B.A. from Wofford College, and his law degree from Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University. Before becoming an elected Judge, Breakfield was the managing partner of Breakfield & Associates, Attorneys, located in Gainesville, Georgia. His firm handled general litigation for businesses and individuals.

Prior to his 2016 election to the State Court Bench, Judge Breakfield served as the part-time prosecutor for Gainesville Municipal Court, as well as a part-time adjunct professor for The University of North Georgia’s paralegal program. Breakfield is a former member of the State of Georgia Judicial Nominating Commission (JNC) and Georgia State Properties Commission and the Georgia Public Building Authority. John has volunteered for many community organizations, including Leadership Georgia, Safe Kids of Gainesville/Hall County, Boys & Girls Clubs of Lanier, Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce Board, Leadership Hall, Youth Leadership Hall, and Interactive Neighborhood for Kids (INK).
